The Party!

Here are the pictures from Calvin's party. Calvin was under the weather all week long (in fact, we've all been sick one way or another recently) so we were very grateful that his party was able to take place. Grammy flew into town and Jim's family came up to help celebrate along with our favorite neighbors, the Axe family. The weather was beautiful and we all had a great time. Thanks to everyone for braving our house to help celebrate this special day!!

Calvin is ONE!!

Can you believe it's been an entire year since this picture was taken, only moments after Calvin was born? It's been an eventful year full of challenges and celebrations. It's hard to remember what our family was like before he was part of it. Calvin has brought us excitement and so much love. We are so thankful for his presence in our lives. We love you Calvino!! Here are some pictures of Calvin throughout the year. The song that is playing is Miracle by the Foo Fighters. I had a playlist of about 100 songs for his labor and birth and this is the one that was playing when he was born. Our little miracle...

Dancing Machine

Tyler's new favorite show is the Imagination Movers. Their show is full of singing and dancing and Tyler loves to "jam" along with the movers. Sometimes he even brings his guitar into the act. Here is a video of him singing along with the theme song.

Fun in the Sun

This past Wednesday we spent the day with Christa, Anna and Emmett. The day was hot so the kids were all about the water. We got out the water table, pool and the slip and slide. Tyler and Anna played outside all day long while the babies napped and played in the shade. Christa took some great pictures too. You can see them on her blog by clicking on the link on the right of the page. We had such a fun time catching up with our old friends and can't wait to see them again soon!

A Preview of Summer

This past weekend was spectacular, weather wise. We spent as much time as possible outside to make up for the past rainy week when we were forced to stay indoors. It was a great preview of what's to come this summer.

Nature in Action

This Spring this mama duck has decided our yard is the place to be. She comes every day with her 8 little babies and nibbles in our grass and eats worms off our sidewalk. Tyler has been in awe of these little ducklings and has loved watching them grow up.

Cruising and Other Tricks

Calvin is moving and shaking more than ever. He now cruises around the furniture and anything else he can pull himself up on, even transferring from one thing to another. He loves to walk behind anything he can push, especially the kitchen chairs. He'll push one until it runs into a wall, abandon it and go get another one to do the exact same thing. It's not unusual for me to walk into the kitchen with all the chairs at opposite ends of the room. He's even been able to stand alone, completely unassisted, for a few seconds before bending his knees and gracefully dropping to the floor. He doesn't fall down, just drops himself down as if so say, "wait a minute, I'm not holding onto anything!" Below is a video of another nifty trick he's just learned.

He does this all the time now with things the same height like bins and the dishwasher lid when it's down. He's our little daredevil!
