Pool Pals

This week our friends Anna, Emmett, Elise, Kate and baby Lauren came over to play at the pool with us. They had so much fun! Everyone played in the little pool all morning then, after a lunch of pizza and fruit, took turns swimming and jumping into the big pool. While the kids were busy splashing the mommies got a chance to catch up and cuddle baby Lauren. Thanks for making the drive Christa and Sarah!

Look Ma, Two Wheels!

Yesterday Tyler said he wanted to try to ride with no training wheels. I took the wheels off his old Thomas the Train bike and he was a natural! After a few practice runs with me he was off and riding all by himself. He's even tackled the two big hills by our house. Woo hoo!! For now we'll keep him on the smaller bike since it's easier to handle and easier for him to reach the ground. We are so proud of our big boy (and he was so proud of himself too)!!!

Calvin's Dedication

Today at church Calvin, along with 8 other little ones, was dedicated to the Lord. It was a simple service up onstage where we introduced our family, received some advice from our pastor and had the church pray for us. Calvin received a beautiful tri-fold memento that includes his dedication certificate, his life verse and a place for a picture. For Calvin's life verse Jim and I chose Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men"
A huge thank you to the Axe family for bringing Ty to church today, witnessing this event in Calvin's life and celebrating with us afterwards. Our family is so lucky to have you in our lives.
Calvin, we are so proud of you and love you so much! May God do amazing things with your life, little boy!

Pedal!

This weekend Jim and I joined a group of friends to celebrate 2 birthdays on a pedal pub in St. Paul. The pedal pub is like a bar on wheels that is propelled by the pedaling power of the people on board. We biked slowly around the streets of St. Paul for two hours laughing and catching up with friends. We were in actual traffic so sometimes we has to pedal like crazy to get going or make it through a light and other times everyone had to stop pedaling so our driver could brake us in time at a stop sign. I say "we" but actually I was unable to help pedal as I was too short to reach the pedals! I did sit in the back and enjoy the view though :) We had such a great time seeing old friends and reminiscing. Happy Birthday to Julia and Mark!
