Slumber Party

This past Saturday Meg's Mother in law had us and Meg's sister over for our 3rd slumber party. Libby usually goes all out but this year she went above and beyond! When we arrived she had a wonderful array of appetizers waiting for us in the sun room along with glasses of wine. After relaxing and talking for a few hours she served us with a delicious dinner of pasta, bread and salad. For dessert we ventured to a local restaurant where we roasted s'mores right at our table! Afterward we headed back home, got into our comfys and settled in for a movie. When we woke up in the morning Libby had cappuccinos and caramel rolls for us which we ate over a long leisurely breakfast filled with great conversation and lots of giggles. We all weren't sure we'd ever be able to go home after being so spoiled!Libby, thank you for planning such a wonderful night for us all. We are all so lucky to have you in our lives!!

Snippet of a Tantrum

A few weeks after we'd been home from Texas my dad called me. He said he and Linda were missing the boys so much and that the house was too quiet now that we were gone. He requested that I call him up the next time one of the boys had a meltdown so they could remember what it was like to have kids in the house again. Well, request granted. The below video is Calvin throwing a pretty mild tantrum in the grand scheme of things. Now you can have the sweet sound of children on demand Dad!

WARNING: The below video contains a screaming, thrashing kid. If you have your own little ones at home and witness this kind of event firsthand you might want to skip this video. If you are kid free and can view this with detachment and humor, play away! :)

Our Own Timberwolf

Two Smiling Boys

Take a good look at the picture above. This might be the last time you see Calvin smiling around his nu-nu. We started restricting it to his crib for naps and night time only. The first few days were tough with him demanding it every few minutes but now he doesn't even look around for it. Without it, he's become quite the wordsmith, coming up with new words and phrases every day. Now we have double the dialogue in our house. Quite noisy :)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! This New Years Eve we spent at our neighbor's house with a small group of friends. The kids ate and played earlier in the evening and, once they were all in bed, it was the adults turn for some merriment. We had a yummy assortment of appetizers and drinks then played games for the rest of 2010. I clearly forgot about my camera the latter part of the evening so here are just a few pics with the girls. Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!!

Christmas in Texas

This year we spent a warm Christmas in Texas with my family. The boys and I flew down for a total of ten days so we could spend time with all my family and friends (who came from all over the state and even Alaska!) and Jim joined us for the last 4 days of our trip. We had such a good time, got to do tons of fun things and, most of all, spend precious time with people we rarely get to see. For most of my family this was their first time meeting Calvin and many hadn't seen Ty in several years. The boys did really well, despite battling illness at the beginning of the journey (we were all sick at some point on this trip). I'm sure I could never cover all the fun things we did but here are some of the highlights and a smattering of pictures. On Christmas Day we drove to East Texas to see my dad's extended family and I left my camera behind (my sick day) so I'm waiting for those pictures to be emailed before I can post them. I also don't have a picture of my dear friend Kim who drove from Austin and back in a day so she could spend time with me and the boys. Thank you Kim!! Thank you to everyone who hosted us at their houses and who traveled to see us. You made our trip so special and we appreciate it more than you know. We love you and miss you already!
