Last weekend we celebrated Sammy's 2nd birthday. My how two years has flown! Sam has grown into such an independent, sweet, funny little boy. It's been amazing watching you grow. We love you!!
This past July marked our 5 year wedding anniversary. Since our honeymoon got hurricaned out we agreed we'd redo it at the 5 year mark so last week Jim and I went to Los Cabos Mexico for a little fun in the sun. Gammy and Poppy came to watch the boys and we were off! The resort we stayed at was right on the beach and absolutely beautiful! We had a full and relaxing trip. While we were there Cabo hosted the Black and Blue Marlin Tournament. There were over a hundred boats bringing in fish anywhere from 300 to 500 pounds! We lounged by the beach and pools, went parasailing (where we saw a huge sea turtle!), explored downtown, spent a day at the spa and drank and ate ourselves silly. Most of all, we enjoyed spending some time alone together to reconnect. The weather was awesome, the people were amazing and we're already talking about when we can go back! Here are a few (and by no means all) of our pictures.
This week I went with the boys to a pumpkin patch. In addition to taking home pumpkins Tyler rode a horse for the first time, we went through a hay maze, played with kittens, petted animals in the petting zoo, looked at a 5 day old calf, Tyler got to release 2 doves and we went on a hayride. Whew! It was a fun and exciting day for both boys.
The past week and a half we have been having unheard of weather here in Minnesota. It's actually felt more like July than October as our temps reached nearly 90! We took advantage this weekend to take care of some last minute gardening and wash the cars one last time. The boys were a big help as you can tell. The morning actually took a turn south towards the end of washing my car. Jim discovered he'd left one of my back windows open, Tyler learned a new word (oops!) and Calvin decided suds were much better to eat than to wash with. Oh well. The wind has picked back up and the temperature is slowly dropping again. We're hoping to savor some crisp autumn days before we welcome Old Man Winter for another season. Thanks for the nice long summer Minnesota!
