Calvin's Dedication

Today at church Calvin, along with 8 other little ones, was dedicated to the Lord. It was a simple service up onstage where we introduced our family, received some advice from our pastor and had the church pray for us. Calvin received a beautiful tri-fold memento that includes his dedication certificate, his life verse and a place for a picture. For Calvin's life verse Jim and I chose Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men"
A huge thank you to the Axe family for bringing Ty to church today, witnessing this event in Calvin's life and celebrating with us afterwards. Our family is so lucky to have you in our lives.
Calvin, we are so proud of you and love you so much! May God do amazing things with your life, little boy!

Pedal!

This weekend Jim and I joined a group of friends to celebrate 2 birthdays on a pedal pub in St. Paul. The pedal pub is like a bar on wheels that is propelled by the pedaling power of the people on board. We biked slowly around the streets of St. Paul for two hours laughing and catching up with friends. We were in actual traffic so sometimes we has to pedal like crazy to get going or make it through a light and other times everyone had to stop pedaling so our driver could brake us in time at a stop sign. I say "we" but actually I was unable to help pedal as I was too short to reach the pedals! I did sit in the back and enjoy the view though :) We had such a great time seeing old friends and reminiscing. Happy Birthday to Julia and Mark!

Buffo Family Band

Tyler created his own drum set (the red bin is the cymbal). I think we know what he'll be asking Santa for this year! :)

He wasn't happy about me taking a picture when he was "rocking". Already rolling his eyes at the tender age of 4!

Lately Cal has been playing the drums while singing the ABCs or, as he calls it, the ABCD song.

This morning even Daddy got in on the action!

Beachy Keen

This week we went to our local beach and sprinkler park for a morning of fun and a lunchtime picnic. Both boys loved the lake and digging in the sand but had the best time at the sprinkler park. Tyler ran around singing at the top of his lungs (a sign he's truly happy) and Calvin trailed right behind him mimicking his every move. They were really precious to watch. I love summer!!

Dog Days of Summer

This past week was a scorcher in Minnesota (how often do I get to say that??) Our heat index was well over 100 and the dew point was in the high 70s, ugh! So we spent a lot of time near the water. At the start of the summer Calvin was very hesitant at the pool, not even wanting to get in the kiddy pool the first time. Now he has lost all fear and will hurl himself into the big pool whether you're ready to catch him of not. Needless to say, I don't have any pictures of us at the pool for fear of taking my eyes and hands off Calvin for even a second. Tyler has been my little fish this summer and loves being in the water, jumping in the pool and practicing his swimming. Here are some pics of the boys in the backyard. The last picture shows how steamy it was here, the lens kept fogging up!

6 Years!!

This Friday Jim and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary. Jim's parents came to stay with the boys Friday afternoon while we headed downtown. After checking into our hotel we did a little shopping and relaxing before we went to a yummy Italian dinner. After dinner we climbed into our bathrobes and watched a movie in bed together. The next morning we got to wake up all on our own and have breakfast in bed. Thank you for a wonderful six years together Jim. I love you!!
